Due to the current high speeds and internet conectivity in most of the USA, actually measuring your internet connection speed and latency has become a complicated specialty unto itself. ring-u tried this for a while and gathered lots of data. For good internet telephony to work, latency and jitter are more important than raw bursty speed. They are also hard to test well through a web browser. Instead of a faux test with pretty graphics and charts, we can estimate your success and happiness with the way ring-u works into 3 categories. So far, this has worked very well.
